What is Leopard?

A large cat species (Panthera pardus) known for its spotted coat and adaptability. The Sri Lankan leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) is an endemic subspecies found only on the island. It is the apex predator in Wilpattu — unlike African leopards, they compete with no other large predators, making them bolder and more visible during daylight hours.
