What is Sri Lankan Junglefowl?

The national bird of Sri Lanka (Gallus lafayettii) and an endemic species found nowhere else on Earth. The male has brilliant iridescent orange-red plumage and a distinctive red comb with a yellow centre. Common in Wilpattu's forests, especially active at dawn from February to May during the breeding season.
