What is Sloth Bear?

A shaggy-coated, nocturnal bear species found in the Indian subcontinent. Unlike carnivorous bears, sloth bears are insect specialists — they feed on termites and ants using their long snout and powerful claws. Wilpattu is the best place in Sri Lanka to see them, especially during the Palu fruit season from May to July.
