What is Dry Season (Wilpattu)?

The period from May to September when Wilpattu receives minimal rainfall. The villus shrink, vegetation thins, and wildlife concentrates around remaining water sources. This is the prime window for leopard and sloth bear sightings. Temperatures range from 26-35°C. Dawn and dusk drives are essential to avoid midday heat.
